Private view and open evening

Members and their guests are invited to the opening of the Spring Exhibition on Tuesday 18 May at 7pm. The Exhibition will be open to the public from Wednesday 19 May to Monday 31 May, 10am to 6pm each day. Coincident with the Spring Exhibition there will be a display of members' work in the Palm Court Restaurant.

An afternoon of Music and Painting by the popular and well-known Artist Alan Luff will take place in The Green Room at The Grand on Wednesday 26 May, 2 to 4pm. Alan's demonstration will be free to members. There will be a charge to non-members and guests. Afterwards cream teas in the Palm Court will be available where members will gather. Those wishing to take tea are asked to book directly with The Grand. The Grand's normal rates will apply. (www.grand-uk.com. 01303 222222)

A Summer Exhibition of work by members will be held in the Palm Court of The Grand from Wednesday 18 August to Monday 20 September 2010. The exhibition can be viewed during the normal opening times of the Palm Court Restaurant.

The Society's Autumn Exhibition will be held at The Grand from Wednesday 10 November to Sunday 21 November 2010.

The Folkestone Art Society Lecture (also promoted by the Folkestone Book Festival) will be by Professor Anthony Slinn. His subject this year will be Amedeo Modigliani. The lecture will be held at The Grand on the 11 November at 7pm. Professor Slinn's lectures for the Society are immensely popular and early booking is advised.

The Society's Christmas Party for members and their guests is to be held on Thursday 18 November at The Grand
